HALAL Food Certification Trend

‘HALAL’ is an Arabic word that has the dictionary meaning of "Allowed" according to Sharia, an Islamic law. In the Islamic scripture, the Koran, it is used to mean "Acceptable," "Permissible," and "Legitimate." Halal, that is led by the government or private institutions of Islamic countries, gives products or services a kind of quality guarantee mark function that not only it does not violate Islamic law but also it has been passed thoroughly verify during distribution and storage.

Considering that about 12% of the worldwide's Muslim population is Indonesia, it is estimated to be the world's No. 1 halal market by single market standards. Singapore

The only halal certification body of Singapore, MUIS, is one of the world's top three halal certification bodies, and its strength is its prompt and transparent procedure. The MUIS Halal certification mark is recognized for its global authority through cross-certification of major Asian Islamic countries such as Brunei, Indonesia and Malaysia and Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries.

UAE (Dubai)

The UAE promotes halal certification standards of international standards, halal certification is designed for Muslims living in non-Muslim countries. Most of the people in the Middle East area were Muslims, so halal certification was not required, but the recent increase in foreigners and imported food emerged the necessity of halal certification. The UAE supported and fostered halal certification as a core government promotion project and included halal projects in seven government core promotion projects.
