ISO 50001:2018 Energy management systems
[ Certification Introduction ]
ISO 50001:2018 standard aims to enable organizations to establish the systems and processes required to improve energy performance, including energy efficiency, utilization and usage. Through systematic energy management, an organization can reduce greenhouse gas emissions, energy costs as well as other related environmental impacts.
Also, the organization can develop and implement an energy policy based on ISO 50001:2018 Standard and can establish detailed objectives and action plans that take into account legal requirements and information related to the use of important energy.
EnMS (Energy Management Systems) enables organizations to achieve policy willingness and at the same time perform the activities necessary to improve energy performance and demonstrate the suitability of the system based on this standard.
This standard is applicable to activities under the control of an organization, and it can be tailored to the specific requirements of the organization, including system complexity, degree of documentation and resources, so it can be applied to organizations of all types and sizes regardless of regional, cultural or social conditions.
ISO 50001:2018 focuses only on sustainable energy action plans along with additional requirements not addressed by the ISO 14001:2015 standard. In addition, it can easily integrate with other management system certifications such as existing Quality Management Systems, Environmental Management Systems, and Occupational Health and Safety Management Systems by introducing the High-Level Structure (HLS).
[ ISO 50001:2018 Requirements ]
ISO 50001:2018 published by ISO in August 2018 focuses on continuous improvement of energy performance through active participation of executives and employees and includes requirements related to data-based processes.
